Franklin – Jeanie Kitchen Darden, 72, went to be with her Lord on April 1, 2014. She was lifelong resident of Southampton County and a 1960 graduate of Franklin High School. Jeanie retired after 35 years from the Mill Planning Department of Union Camp Corporation and she was a former science teacher with Hunterdale Christian School. She was a faithful member of Hunterdale Baptist Church. Jeanie loved music and enjoyed playing the piano and the violin with Sandra Vinson, Russell Reeder and her current teacher, Gail Stepp.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Ferne T. Kitchen; daughter, Jill Darden; sons, Clifton "Jack" Darden and his wife, Dawn, and Jonathan Paul Darden; a brother, George Thomas Kitchen, Jr. and his wife, Ann. She was predeceased by her father, George T. Kitchen, Sr.

The funeral will be held at 2 PM Friday at Hunterdale Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard L. Vinson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM Thursday at Wright Funeral Home and suggest memorials be made to Hunterdale Baptist Church , 23099 Sedley Rd., Franklin, VA 23851 or Answers in Genesis, P.O.
