Franklin – Jean Harris Kirkland, 85, passed away on August 18, 2022.   Born in Roanoke Rapids, NC and raised in Garysburg, NC, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Otto Harris and Mattie Mayle Harris.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, John Clifton Kirkland.

Jean was a 1955 graduate of Seaboard High School and a secretary in the Particleboard Plant at Union Camp Corporation with 40 years of service.  She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Pamela K. Neave and her husband, Phil, of Ivor and Angela K. Faison of Knoxville, TN; a sister, Raye Gay of Conway, NC; three grandchildren, Andrew K. Faison, John E. Neave, and Emma M. Neave; a special sister-in-law, Linda K. Lamm of Wilson, NC; and many cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM Tuesday, August 23, 2022 in Franklin Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Qualls, Rev. Steve Gibson, and Rev. Jim Hyatt officiating.  Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM Monday in Wright Funeral Home and suggests that memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
