Capron – Jean Journigan Harrup, 80, widow of Charlie Goodman "CG" Harrup, Jr. passed away September 3, 2019 in Southampton Memorial Hospital.  A life-long resident of Southampton County, she was the daughter the late Lloyd Carroll Journigan, Sr. and Marion Vick Journigan and was also predeceased by her brother Lloyd C. Journigan, Jr.  Jean was a graduate of Southampton High School and Pan American Business School in Richmond.  She was a member of Joyner United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are a daughter Debbie Dunn (Steve) of Capron; two sons Stephen Harrup (Heike) of Fairfax and Brian Harrup (Rhonda) of Capron; six grandchildren Kristin Hylton, Andrea Harrup, Cameron Harrup, Chelsea Harrup, Lindsey Harrup, and Braxton Harrup; and three great grandchildren Parker Hylton, Amin Zaqzouq, and Adaliegh Harrup.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, September 7, 2019 in Joyner Cemetery with Rev. Fred Brockhausen officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday in Wright Funeral Home and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Joyner United Methodist Church, c/o Jeanette Everett, 17413 Everett Rd., Capron, VA 23829. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
