Courtland- Jean A. Burgess, 83, passed away March 20, 2015. Jean was born in Suffolk, the daughter of the late Howard and Clara Carter Hancock and was predeceased by a brother, Howard Smith "Smitty" Hancock, Jr. She was a member of Grace Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Claude C. Burgess, one daughter, Anita Claudine Hines, one son, Jeff Burgess, three grandchildren, Stefanie Bunn, Michael Burgess (Kimberly) and Kimberly Suits (Dustin), three great grandchildren, Lauren, Taylor and Haley Bunn, and a sister-in-law, Audrey R. Hancock.

A graveside funeral will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley with the Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 7 to 8:30 PM at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin and suggests memorial donations be made to the Courtland Rescue Squad or a favorite charity. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
