Obituary

Suffolk – Jarvis Littleton Howell, Jr., 71, a peace maker, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on October 14, 2020.  A life-long resident of Suffolk, he was the son of the late Jarvis Littleton Howell, Sr. and Nell Daughtrey Howell.  Jarvis was also predeceased by his father and mother-in-law, Jack and Lola Harrell, and a brother-in-law, Ted Douglas Harrell.

Jarvis was a 1968 graduate of Forest Glen High School and a 1975 graduate of Campbell College.  He was a former farmer for 20 years with his father and a case manager for Western Tidewater Community Services Board for over 15 years.  He was a life-long member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church where he served in many capacities.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 44 years, Linda Harrell Howell; two sons, Jarvis L. Howell, III (Maggie) of Suffolk and Jack D. Howell (Sheila Sreylen) of Gloucester; a sister, Geraldine H. McDaniel (Paul) of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Joshua Howell, Jarvis Howell, IV, and Iroriel "Rori" Howell; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Harrison (William) and Judy Winslow (William); two brothers-in-law, Jack Harrell (Mary) and Jimmy Harrell; and many loving nieces and nephews.

An outdoor service will be held at 2PM Tuesday, October 20, 2020 in front of Beaver Dam Baptist Church with Rev. Warren Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family request that memorial donations be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

Jarvis carried this close at all times, "Hope sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible."
