Franklin – Janice A. Kreider, 85, passed away April 17, 2026 at The Village at Woods Edge.  Jan was born in Allentown, PA to the late George and Doris Neitz and lived in numerous places during her lifetime.  She moved from Rehoboth Beach, DE to The Village at Woods Edge in September 2023, where she made Franklin her final home.

She was a member of Holland Baptist Church since 2023.

Jan was predeceased by her first husband, John C. Ziegler, in 1993, and her second husband, William Kreider, in 2021.

Jan is survived by her son Jeffrey J. Zeigler (Diane) of Franklin and daughter Jennifer Maguire (Jack) of Lewes, Delaware. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ryan Zeigler (Christine) of Newport, NC, Aaron Zeigler (Stephanie) of Charlotte, NC, and Evelyn Maguire (Rodrigo); and her great grandchildren, Milo, Alec, Julian, and Arabella.

She will be buried with her first husband in a private ceremony at Nisky Hill Cemetery in Bethlehem, PA.  Arrangements are being made through Wright Funeral Home in Franklin.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Jan at Holland Baptist Church, 6519 Holland Road, Suffolk, VA at a future date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Paul D. Camp Community College Foundation, 100 N. College Drive, Franklin, VA  23851.

The family would like to thank Jan's caregiving team in her final weeks – Daphine Worrell, Felicia Jones, Jasmine Johnson, Shaquanda Boone, and Renarda Vail – for their outstanding and caring service.  The family would also like to thank the staff at The Village at Woods Edge for their compassionate service – making a northern girl feel at home in the south!
