Suffolk- On October 23, 2015 James Paul "Jimmy" Whitley was promoted into glory at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Colerain, NC on August 14, 1950 to the late Paul Bennett and Ruth Hughes Whitley and was also predeceased by his soulmate Blanche Levinson Whitley.
He was employed by V-DOT for 35 years , was a member of Community Hunt Club and loved spending time in the Outer Banks.
Left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Theresa Griffin and Jean Everett, loving father of three daughters, Cindy Weeden (Jon), Adrian Lee (Allen) and Donna Turner (Perry). Affectionately known as Pop-Pop to eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Rock Church of Franklin with Pastor Danny Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 7:30 PM at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin and suggests memorial donations be made to Rock Church of Franklin. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
