Sedley – James Marshall "Jimmy" Johnson, 74, passed away May 16, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Nansemond County, a son of the late Horace and Mildred Boothe Johnson. James was retired from International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 147 after 49 years, and was a member of B & B Hunt Club. He was a former Army Reservist and a member of Grace Memorial United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish his memory is the love of his life, his wife of 56 ½ years, Joyce Dundalow Johnson; his son, John N. Johnson and wife, Robin; two granddaughters, his pride and joy, Amanda Kate Johnson and Jenna Kit Johnson; and brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Paulette Johnson.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 pm Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Cliff Fritzinger officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8: 30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home, and suggests memorials be made to Ivor Methodist Church.
