Chesapeake – James Wesley Hendrick, 68, passed away February 18, 2021 in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.  Born in Norfolk and raised in Chesapeake, he was a son of the late Orville Addison Hendrick and Dora Barley Hendrick and was also predeceased by a brother, Richard Hendrick.

James was a graduate of Great Bridge High School and an Army veteran.  He was a Master Firefighter with the Virginia Beach Fire Department from 1975 to 2002.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Frances Kelly of Portsmouth; two sons, Richard Hendrick (Tiffany) of Walters and Patrick Hendrick (Amanda) of Fayetteville, NC; a sister, Brenda Ellis of Portsmouth; a brother, Sterling "Stan" Hendrick of Norfolk; four grandchildren, Kirsten, Hailey, and Hunter Hendrick and Abigail Kelly; and one great grandchild.
