Obituary

Franklin – James "Jimmy" Thomas Fowler, 76, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.

Born and raised in Franklin, Jimmy was the son of the late Carrol E. Fowler and Burnell Galtress Fowler. He was also predeceased by his brother, Carrol E. Fowler, Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 51 years, Nina Banks Fowler; three sons, Jason Fowler (Holly), Travis Fowler (Susan), and Cullen Fowler; and four beloved grandchildren, Caroline Richardson (Dylan), Charlotte Fowler, Jake Fowler, and Ian Fowler. He was a devoted husband, dad, and Paw who found his greatest joy in the love and laughter of his family.

Jimmy was a proud graduate of Southampton High School. He retired from the maintenance division of International Paper after 35 years of dedicated service, where he was known for his skill and dependability—there wasn't much he couldn't fix. Following his retirement, he founded his own home inspection company, continuing to share his craftsmanship and attention to detail with others.

An exceptional woodworker, Jimmy took great pride in his creations, from finely crafted furniture to small pieces made with love for family and friends. His workshop was a gathering place for neighbors and grandchildren alike, where he happily shared his tools, skills, and stories. Many in the community were blessed by his handiwork, whether through a carefully built project or his willingness to lend a hand whenever something needed fixing.

He loved listening to music, attending concerts, and treasured time spent with his grandchildren, taking them on many adventures with Nina by his side. Even during his illness, Jimmy remained positive and continued to share his quick wit and light-hearted humor with everyone around him—a true reflection of his kind and resilient spirit.

Jimmy was a faithful member and deacon of Franklin Congregational Christian Church.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Wright Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Hyatt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Franklin Congregational Christian Church, the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, or to a charity of your choice.
