Obituary

Suffolk - James Alton Byrum, 70, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, February 2, 2019 in his home surrounded by his family after a long illness. Alton was native of Suffolk and was member of Holland Baptist Church.He was a retired terminal checker at Lambert's Point Docks in Norfolk. After his retirement he worked at Farmer's Feed and Seed in Suffolk for a couple years and was a coach and athletic director at James River Christian Academy.

He was predeceased by his parents Reuben and Linda Roebuck.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 36 years, Peggy Adams Byrum, two daughters, Holly B. Carter (R.J.) of Ivor, Lindsay B. Byrum of Suffolk, three sons, Skye Zultanky (Rebekah) of Naples, Fl., Hunter Byrum (Brandi) of Ivor, Zachary Byrum of Orlando, Fl., two sisters, Linda R. Barclay (Jim Hull) of Cordova, TN., Ginny R. Graunke (David) of Wake Forest, NC., one brother, Danny Roebuck (Cheryl) of Chesapeake, nine grandchildren, and one on the way, Cameron, Isabella, Judah, Sophie, Levi, Bailey, Elydia, Marlee, Aubrey, and Kennedy on the way.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 PM, Tuesday, February 5, 2019 in Holland Baptist Church, with Pastor Matthew Johnson officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the MSA Coalition, www.multiplesystematrophy.org
