Sedley – Irving Montague Malcolm, 82, passed away May 8, 2020 in his home. Born in Spotsylvania, he was a son of the late Edward Walter Malcolm, Sr. and Gussie Leigh Taylor Malcolm and was also predeceased by a brother, Edward W. Malcolm, Jr.
Irving was a Navy Veteran and the former owner and operator of Southampton Metal Works. He was a member of Sedley Baptist Church. Irving was a basket maker and enjoyed doing for others.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Gracie Mulder Malcolm; two daughters, Anita Malcolm of Courtland and Teri Widmer (Eric) of Sedley; two sisters, Faye M. Seeley of Smithfield and Willie M. Chambers of Suffolk; a brother Hugh W. Malcolm of Sedley; two grandchildren, Erin L. Howard and Zachary T. Malcolm; and nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Monday, May 11, 2020 at Rosemont Cemetery with Rev. Jim Foreman officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Sedley Baptist Church Building Fund.
