Franklin – Irma Bryant Howard, 88, widow of Roy Howard died January 3, 2018 in Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Howard was a native of Nansemond County and was a daughter of the late John L. and Katherine Coggsdale Bryant. She was also predeceased by four sisters, Evelyn B. Howard, Gladys B. Whalin, Janie B. Griffin and Jackie B. McGhee. Mrs. Howard was a retired accounting manager for Southampton Memorial Hospital after 35 years of service and prior to that had worked for thirteen years for St. Regis Paper Company. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy H. Myers of Franklin, two grandchildren, Jeff Myers and his wife Katie and Morgan Myers, one sister Barbara B. Babb of Franklin and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 2 PM Sunday January 7, 2018 in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Warren Johnson and the Rev. James W. Browder, III officiating. The burial will follow at 1 PM Thursday January 11, 2018 at Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
