Courtland – India W. Phillips, 96, a native of Southampton County and a former resident of Sandston, quietly passed into the presence of her Lord July 4, 2011. Mrs. Phillips was predeceased by her husband, Percy Bruce Phillips; parents, Sidney Rivers and Rosa Jo Westbrook, and her sister, Virginia W. Brooks.
Surviving Mrs. Phillips are her son, Sidney Bruce Phillips (Gayle); step-grandson, Will (Mindy); step-great-grandson, Hayden; nephew, Adrian Brooks; and nieces, Silvia Brooks and Elleen Romer (Steve).
A visitation of remembrance will be held from 2 pm to 8 pm, July 8, 2011 at the home, 17409 Carys Bridge Road, Courtland (Sebrell). A private graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 am July 9, 2011 at Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Speight officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a local food pantry, union mission, or your favorite charity. Wright Funeral Home is assisting the family.
