Obituary

Horace G. Ellis, 91, who lived in Franklin most of his adult life, died Monday evening, February 25, 2008 in Crescent City, Fl. where he had resided since 1981. Born in Green County, Georgia, he was an Army veteran and, together with his brother, operated a welding shop. He was a member of Howe United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Ellis; son, H. Dean Ellis (Terri), all of Crescent City, Fl; three daughters, Patricia Fairbanks (Ted) of Williamsburg, Va, Carolyn Eanes (Chip) of Raleigh, NC, and Audrey Ball (Tom) of Crescent City; two step-daughters, Jody Preston and Debora Pointer, both of Suffolk; step-son, Paul Scott Smith of Gloucester, Va.; two sisters, Sue E. Holt of Crescent City and Clyde Jackson of Hawaii; eight grandchildren, Tomas Scott, Ginger Bennion (Dean), Michelle Green (Steve), Melissa Eanes, Wes Ball, Jason Ellis (Sheila), Erik Ellis, Hayley Ball and two great-grandchildren, Cody and Bailey Green. He was predeceased by his first wife of 57 years, Doris Johnson Ellis, and a step-daughter, Cynthia Sears.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 am Saturday at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. George Boomer officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 pm. at the funeral home and suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made for the benefit of Haven Hospice to NEFAR Charitable Foundation, 1723 Reid St., Palatka, Fl 32177.
