Hertford, NC – Henry Jenkins, Jr., 87, passed away June 26, 2026 in Elizabeth City Health and Rehab.  Born in Warrenton, NC and formerly of Windsor, VA and Holiday Island, NC, he was a son of the late Henry and Pattie Thompson Jenkins and was also predeceased by his wife, Joyce Peterson Jenkins, and a grandchild, Adam Jenkins.

Henry was a car salesman.

Left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Betty J. Bailey (Karlus) of Carrsville, Jackie J. Bradshaw (Kenny) of Concord, and Melissa J. Greene (Todd) of Suffolk; two sisters, Dorothy Portis (Robert) and Emma Lou Hudson, all of Roanoke Rapids; three grandchildren, Justin Bailey (Kim), Morgan B. Cook (Brandon), and Taylor B. Shull (Travis); and six great grandchildren, Carleigh and Caroline Bailey, Carter and Kennedy Cook, and Parker and Truett Shull.

Services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to any favorite charity.

The family would like to thank the staff of Elizabeth City Health and Rehab for their wonderful care.
