Jackson, NC – Hazel Boone Vann, 81, passed away June 24, 2017 at her daughter's home in Franklin, VA. A lifelong resident of Northampton County she was a daughter of the late William Early Boone and Ruby Wright Boone.

She was a graduate of Jackson High School and was a Sales Associate at Belk's Department Store in Roanoke Rapids. She was a member of Sedley Baptist Church and a former member of Jackson Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Melissa Vann Bassey (Tom) of Franklin, VA, one son Jamie Vann of Rocky Mount, three grandchildren, Sierra Vann Hall (Steve) of Roanoke Rapids, Dakota Vann of Durham and Abigail Bassey of Franklin, VA, one great grandchild Gabriel Hall.

Mrs. Vann was predeceased by two sisters, Ruby Calvert and Kathryn Terry and two brothers, Early Boone, Jr. and Henry Boone and her former husband William Vann.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 3PM in Sedley Baptist Church, 17494 Johnsons Mill Rd., Sedley, VA with the Rev. Jim Foreman officiating.
