Franklin, VA – Hazel Virginia Mills Woodward, 89, widow of Robert Clinton Woodward, passed away July 20, 2018 in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin, VA. Hazel was native and long-time resident of Laurinburg, NC. She was born in Marshville, NC to the late Preston Brooks Mills and Lilly Irene Rayfield Mills. She was also predeceased by her son Robert Brooks Woodward; three brothers Erskine, Graham, and Norris "Sonny" Mills; and three sisters Gertrude Dunn, Atha Baxter, and Edith Lancaster. Hazel was a member of Stewartsville Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is one daughter Susan W. Singer (Eric) of Ivor, VA; one son Eric Woodward of Wilson, NC; a daughter-in-law Chris Woodward of Laurinburg, NC; a sister Dottie Mills Surface of Elizabeth City, NC; five grandchildren Robert Brooks "B.J." Woodward, Jr., Virginia Brooke Buffkin (Justin), Jackson "Jake" Woodward, Jeremy Singer (Kathy), and Jerrod Singer (Jessie); and eight great grandchildren.
