Franklin – Harry Clifton "Buster" Butler, III, 76, passed away December 10, 2025 in VCU Medical Center.  Born in Suffolk, he was a son of the late Harry Clifton Butler, Jr. and Kathleen Cobb Butler.  He was also predeceased by his brother, Charles A. Butler.

Buster was a 1969 graduate of Franklin High School and was a mechanic for G & G Farm Service and Hunterdale Service Center.  He grew up in High Street United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Tina Sudduth (John), Lisa Whitfield (Melvin), and Ashley Lassiter (Justin); two sons, Raymond Gay (Nikki) and Travis Butler; three sisters, Joyce Blythe (Fred), Judy Bailey (Wayne) and Phyllis Metcalf (Jerry); eight grandchildren, Brian Gay, Candice Midyette, Bradley Spivey, Sharon Gay, Shannon Gay, Robert Whitfield, Raymond Gay, and Jessica Butler; four great grandchildren, Brianna Gay, Bradley Gay, Cade Seagraves, and Cami Seagraves; his lifelong friend, Theresa Griffin; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lee Butler; and nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Monday, December 15, 2025 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Dewayne Lambert officiating.  Burial will be private.  Memorial donations may be made to your favorite animal association.
