Smithfield – Robert Harold Turner was granted his wings on January 2, 2020.  Harold was 65 years old, born and raised in Sedley, VA.  Left to cherish his memory are wife Marie Turner, mother Doris Stephenson, two sons and a daughter and their spouses, Chris and Tonya Turner, Tabetha and Jay Dunlow, and David and Candice Turner, six grandchildren Haylee and Brandon Turner, Devin and Dustin Dunlow, Tyler and Austin Turner, two sisters and their spouses, Carolyn and Jerry Casey and Jean and Hoyle Green, and his special dog Shelby.  He was predeceased by his father, Edgar Lee Turner and brother Ernest Lee Turner.

Harold was a retired mechanic and one heck of a welder.  He spent most of his career in the "Log Woods".  He had two sons turning wrenches as soon as they were old enough to hold them in their hands and taught his baby girl how to fish and love the outdoors.  Harold was known to many as "Catbird".  He loved the outdoors, duck hunting, and fishing.  Harold is loved and will be missed by many and his memories will always be cherished.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 1 PM Wednesday, January 8, 2020 (on Harold's birthday) in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with Pastor Joe Poe officiating.  The burial will follow at Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 PM in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to any favorite charity.
