Ivor – Harold Robert Bartlett, 68, passed away April 15, 2011 at his residence after a long illness. He was born in Norfolk, the son of the late Harold Lester and Eleanor Maloney Bartlett and was predeceased by his sister, Judith Howlett. Harold was a Coast Guard veteran; paint manager at Lowe's in Suffolk, and a member of the Sedley Recreation Committee. Mr. Bartlett enjoyed golf and bowling, and was a longtime member of the Norfolk Bowling Association. He was a member of the Sedley Ruritans and Sedley Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 45 years, Jane Willows Bartlett; one daughter, Kelly Fisher (Scott) of Winchester; two sons, Robert Bartlett of Charlotte Hall, MD and Scott Bartlett of Ivor; and nine grandchildren, Amber, Patrick, Kevin, Eric, Roy, Jade, Tyler, Cassie, and Dustin.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4 pm Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Sedley Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Foreman officiating. Interment will be at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk at a later date. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, is assisting the family.
