"Minnie" Turner

Courtland – Horace Milton "Minnie" Turner, 91, passed away May 27, 2018 in East Pavilion. Minnie was born in Carrsville and was a son of the late James Henry Turner, Sr. and Cora Scott Turner. He was also predeceased by his wife Mary Nell Johnson Turner; four sisters Helen Turner, Eleanor T. Hatch, Mae Dunlow Jones, and Dorothy Cobb; and a brother James H. Turner, Jr. Minnie attended Western Carolina College, was a US Navy Veteran, and a retired Beater Engineer with 44 years of service with International Paper. He was a former member of Delaware Hunt Club and The Sportsman Bassmasters and a member of Courtland United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish his memory are two step-daughters Cindy B. Lynskey of Orange Park, FL and Vicki B. Huggins (Graham) of Melbourne, Australia; three grandchildren Amy Wilkinson (Dave), Katie O'Brien (Jacob), and Emily Lynskey; three great granddaughters, Evelyn, Mary Maeve and Charlotte, several nieces and nephews; and dear friend Nell Kauss.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 9, 2018, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with Rev. Andrew Book officiating. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Friday, June 8 from 6-8 p.m. and suggests that memorial donations be made to Courtland United Methodist Church.
