Courtland – Glynn Kello Parker, 79, passed away February 23, 2017 at Southampton Memorial Hospital with her children and loved ones by her side. She was widow of Retired US Air Force Lt. Colonel Frederick Tunstall "Freddie" Parker, II. Mrs. Parker was born in Franklin on March 21, 1937, daughter of the late James Richard Kello, Jr. and Edith lee Johnson Kello and also predeceased by two brothers, James Richard Kello, III and Robert Francis Kello.

Mrs. Parker was a graduate of Courtland High School and Radford University. She was a former Elementary School teacher in Franklin and Nova Scotia, Canada and was an active member of Sebrell United Methodist Church for 37 years where she taught Sunday school, played the piano and served as President of the UMW for many years. She was most recently a member of Courtland United Methodist Church.

Glynn cherished her grandchildren, playing bridge, talking about family history and living at Rose Hill, her family home place. Glynn was very active in her community, especially the Southampton Historical Society, serving as secretary for 30 years. She was also a member of the Sebrell Woman's Club for 39 years, and an active member of the DAR and UDC.

Left to cherish her memory are three children, James Frederick Parker of Courtland, Lynn P. Nesaw and her husband Alan of Mechanicsville, VA and Robert T. Parker and his wife Lori of Courtland, four grandchildren, Christopher Nesaw and his wife Mary Catherine, Mollie Nesaw and Marshall and Caroline Parker, sister, Mariah Nunn and her husband John, sister-in-law, Janet Okleshen and her husband Charles, brother-in-law, Glenn Parker and his wife Tempest and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2PM Sunday February 26, 2017 at Courtland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Andrew Book officiating. The burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 8:30 PM in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin and suggests that memorial donations be made to the History Museum of Southampton County, Courtland, VA (mailed to Lynda Updike, 33335 Statesville, Rd, Newsoms, VA 23874)
