Gloria Jean Sessoms, 40, passed away July 26, 2008 following a courageous battle with cancer. A graduate of Norview High School, she was a licensed practical nurse with Sentara Health System and a member of Norview Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Thomas Ray Sessoms; her 11 year-old son, Dakota Ray Sessoms; her mother, Beatrice S. Weisgerber of Norfolk; her surrogate father, Harry Taylor of Norfolk; four sisters, Kathy Kendrick of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Marian Klennert of Olympia, WA, Peggy Allen of Franklin, Karen Westfall of Beaufort, NC; four brothers, Kenny Brady and Johnny Brady, both of Norfolk, Steve Brady of Fredericksburg and Fred Weisgerber of Chesapeake; mother-in-law, Mae Sessoms of Norfolk and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Max E. Weisgerber and a son, Christopher J. Weisgerber.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday in Norview Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Smith officiating. The family requests memorial donations be made to your local chapter of the American Cancer Society or Norview Baptist Church, 1127 Norview Ave., Norfolk, VA 23513. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, is assisting the family.
