Franklin – Gladys Parker Gardner, 98, passed away May 23, 2013. Mrs. Gardner was born in Isle of Wight County, a daughter of the late William Edward and Annie Howell Parker and was predeceased by her daughter, Betty C. Runyon; four brothers, Guyver Lee, Staley, Edward, and Lennie Parker. She was a retired Nurse's Aide from Obici Hospital, member of the Suffolk Moose Lodge and a foster parent in Isle of Wight County for many years.
Survivors include her son, James A. Coggsdale, Jr., and his wife, Shirley of New Port Richey, FL; five grandchildren, Robert Todd, Connie C. Renn, Kenneth Coggsdale, James A. Coggsdale, III, and Mayton Branch; a host of great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, May 25, at Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. James H. Hyatt, Jr. officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Suffolk Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary, 675 Turlington Road, Suffolk, VA 23434. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
