Midlothian – Gladys Catherine Daughtrey Atkins, 88, passed away April 22, 2019 in Westport Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.  Born in North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Edwin P. Daughtrey, Sr. and Sadie Holland Daughtrey.  Gladys was also pre-deceased by her husband William Archer "Bill" Atkins, Sr.; three sisters Faye Turner, Nell Story, Ann O'Brien; three brothers Raymond, Thomas and Pete Daughtrey; and her step-mother Beulah Daughtrey.  She was a graduate of Franklin High School and a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church.

Left to cherish her memory are three daughters Patricia C. Ferguson (Steve), Pamela C. Gavin, and Peggy A. Jordan; a son William A. "Billy" Atkins, Jr. (Kim); a brother Edwin P. Daughtrey, Jr.; nine grandchildren Randy Withers, Karen Blanton, Caitlin Argalas, Mari Kathryn Gavin, Jacob Jordan, Jesse Jordan, Courtney Atkins, William Atkins and Ethan Atkins; four great grandchildren Jack and Emma Blanton and Natalie and Mackenzie Argalas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM Friday, April 26, 2019, in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Armand Jalbert officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
