Newsoms – Catherine Virginia "Ginny" Sullins, 81, passed away on January 30, 2022 in Southampton Memorial Hospital.  Born in Salem, VA on February 27, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Anderson and Evelyn Kerlin Anderson.

Ginny was a graduate of James Madison University and a retired English teacher at Franklin High School.  She was an exceptional teacher that touched many lives.  Ginny loved animals and opened her home to many rabbits, cats and dogs.

Left to cherish her memory are a son, Gary Michael Sullins; her step-mother, Virginia Rose Anderson; three sisters, Debbie, Dawn and Brenda; a granddaughter, Casey Sullins Jenkins; four great grandchildren, Aiden, Emma, Dawsyn, and Riley Jenkins; her caregiver and friend, Jack Gary; and her close friend, Maxine Ritter.
