Franklin – George Marvin Rainey, 48, died February 17, 2008. Born in Jacksonville, NC, he was the son of John Thomas (Jack) and Naomi Denson Rainey. He was a retired electrician and an avid golfer.
Surviving in addition to his parents are two sisters, Jackie Drake of Walters, Wanda Stephenson and husband, Jimmy, of Carrsville; two brothers, John T. (Bubba) Rainey, Jr. of Blackstone, Michael A. Rainey and wife, Renee, of Courtland; his special aunt, Fannie Bristow of Black Creek; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Thursday at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Richard Peerey officiating. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
