Newsoms – George Ralph Ivey, 81, passed away March 21, 2014 in Wilmington, NC. He was a son of the late Willie B. and Susie Ferguson Ivey and was predeceased by his daughter, Varner Jean Ivey, and brother, Ben Ivey. Ralph was a retired farmer and member of Barnes United Methodist Church. He was a loving and caring father and husband who always put his family first.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 62 years, Jean Gray Ivey; daughters, Teresa I. Van Damme and her husband, David, and Joanna Courtney Ivey and grandson, Cole Thomas Ivey.

A graveside funeral will be held at 2 PM Monday, March 24, 2014 at Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms with the Rev. Darwin Edwards and Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Sunday at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin and suggest memorials be made to Barnes United Methodist Church, c/o Betty W.
