Emery, George Abraham "Abe", 53, formerly of Rosby's Rock died on May 14, 2012 at his residence in Midlothian, VA after an extended illness. He was born January 30, 1959 in Glen Dale, WV, a son of the late Edward Everett Emery, Jr. and Leona Mae Litman Emery and was also predeceased by a sister, Juanita Hope Wood and an infant brother, Robert Emery. Abe was a graduate of John Marshall High School, a member of the Moundsville Church of the Nazarene and a retired maintenance supervisor for the Beverly Nursing Home in Columbus, OH.
Survived by two sisters, Barbara Sue Emery of Moundsville, WV and Mable Ann Parker (John) of Franklin, VA, a brother, John William Emery of Columbus, OH and special nieces and nephews, Lutechia, Boss, Mike and June and Kris, Heather (Jon) and Holly (Danny). Although Abe had no children of his own, he was considered a father by Kris, Heather and Holly. Left to cherish his memory are many great nieces and nephews including Leo and Jon Paul, who shared a special bond with Uncle Abe.
Friends will be received from 7 to 8:30 PM Friday at the CARE Funeral Home, Moundsville where services will be held 11 AM Saturday, May 19, 2012 with Rev. Leon Blaise officiating. Interment in Salem Cemetery, Roberts Ridge. Following the service, a celebration of Uncle Abe's life will be held in Litman Field at Rosby's Rock. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity for children.
