Garvin Ralston Holland, Sr.

Suffolk – Garvin Ralston Holland, Sr., 70, passed away July 23, 2026 in his home with family by his side.  He was the son of the late Gus R. Holland, Jr. and Mildred Darden Holland and was also predeceased by a son, Garvin "G.R." Ralston Holland, Jr.

Garvin was a 1974 graduate of Forest Glen High School.  He was a retired butcher for many area grocery stores and was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 44 years, Mary Ann Meade Holland; three daughters, Deria Brunner, Barbie Cooper, and Donna Hofius; a son, Eric Holland; a sister, Leslie Tyree; nine grandchildren, Kirsten Biel, Kaitlynne Holland, Travis Garvin Holland, Alexander Binetsky, Nathaniel Binetsky, Brandy Binetsky, John Sargent, Michael Sargent, and Mathew Sargent; and seven great grandchildren, Audrey and Stella Binetsky, Emilia and Melodie Binetsky, Orion Guin, and Jack and Theo Sargent.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Friday, July 31, 2026 in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. James H. Hyatt, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM Thursday in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.  Refreshments will be served following the graveside service at 3385 Beaverdam Rd., Franklin.
