Norfolk – Garry Dean Vasser, 65, passed away on February 6, 2023 in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.  Born in Franklin and raised in the Burdette area of Southampton County, he was a son of the late James Thomas "Totsie" Vasser and Julia Wiggins Vasser Hedgspeth.

Garry was a 1975 graduate of Southampton High School and a US Marine veteran.  He was a machinist for Franklin Equipment Co. and a member of Burdette Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Peggy V. Gray (Wayne) and Patricia V. Lane (Bob); a brother, Roger T. Vasser (Diane); and a host of nieces and nephews.
