Franklin-Frank Herman Foster, 82, of Franklin passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016. He was born on November 17, 1933 in Norfolk General Hospital to Nathan and Nora V. Foster. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gracie Cobb Foster; a son, Frank H. Foster, Jr, of Richmond; twin daughters, Sharon F. Beale, and her husband, Warren; Karen F. Bradshaw, and her husband, Rob; his granddaughter, Frances G. Bradshaw, all of Southampton County. He also is also survived by his sister, Virginia F. Dilday, of Plymouth, NC; his sister-in-law, Ann Foster, of Courtland, and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He was predeceased by his parents, as well as his brothers, W. Nathan Foster and James E. Foster.

Frank graduated from Courtland High School in 1952 and retired from Union Camp Corp. after 45 years of service. He was a member of Hunterdale Christian Church, and served as an active member and leader in the Hunterdale Ruritan Club where he proudly chaired the annual Beef BBQ for many years. He was a charter member of the Sebrell Ruritan Club, an honorary fireman after serving many years in the Hunterdale Volunteer Fire Dept., a member of the Nottoway Investment Club, and the Laymen's Fellowship at Hunterdale Christian Church.
He lived his final days at the Village at Woods Edge in Franklin where he enjoyed the fellowship of old and newly made friends. While there, he was blessed by the wonderful, caring staff and his loving caregivers, Ella Sykes, Valerie Riddick, Rita Darden, Angela Reid, and Lisa B. Turner.

A funeral will be held on Saturday, July 23 at 2 PM at the Hunterdale Christian Church, 741 Hunterdale Rd, Franklin with Pastor Don Rosie officiating. The burial will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends on Friday, July 22 from 6:00 – 8:30 PM at Wright Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor Frank may be made to the Frank Foster Scholarship Fund, c/o Hunterdale Ruritan Club, 133 Verna St, Franklin, VA 23851.
