Franklin – Frances Butler Thomas, 78, died January 3, 2010 in Eden, NC. She was born in Suffolk, VA, a daughter of the late Harry Clifton and Nettie Russell Butler, and was predeceased by her brother, Harry C. Butler, Jr. She was co-owner with her husband of Thomas Printing and was a member of High Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, John T. Thomas; one daughter, Joan T. Sparks (Dennis) of Stoneville, NC; one son; John T. Thomas, Jr. (Ruth) of Raleigh, NC; one sister, Mildred B. Mason (Wallace) of Franklin; five grandchildren, Amy Sparks-Martin (Kevin), Abbey S. Hawkins (Jeremy), Andrea Frances Sparks, John S. Thomas (Rebecca), Anne E. Thomas; six great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kevin, Jr., Kristopher, and Kinsey Martin, and Landon and Luke Thomas; and her grand-dog Sadie.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
