Franklin – Frances Jernigan Shea, 82, passed away March 18, 2022 in her home with family by her side.  Born in Carthage, NC, she was a daughter of the late Duncan Cornelius Jernigan and Mary Elizabeth Dupree Jernigan.  She was also predeceased by a sister, Irene Craig and five brothers, Dunk, George, Frank, Gene and Phillip Jernigan.

Frances attended Kingdom Impact Church.  She loved doing for others, especially for her family, whom she loved so very much.

Left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Susan Williams (Craig), Cathy Burgess (Stan), Julie Smiley (Chris) and Cindy Panikowski (Justin); a sister, Elizabeth Knipper; nine grandchildren, Ryan Burgess (Lauren), Olivia Willliams, Zach Burgess, Danielle Minguez (Aaron), Adam Williams (Jami), Rachel Bamba (Justin), Joshua Smiley, Brielle Panikowski, and Gunnar Panikowski; four great grandchildren, Brianna Hardy, Serenity Hardy, Brayden Hardy, and Easton Burgess; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in Kingdom Impact Church with Pastor Matt Kidd officiating.  Burial will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery off of Homestead Rd.  The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Kingdom Impact Building Fund and would like to express a special thanks to the staff at Medi Hospice, especially Kendra and Deborah, who showed her compassion and love throughout her final days.
