Richmond – Frances Marshall Joyner, 83, passed away peacefully March 9, 2019 at her residence in Henrico. Frances was born in Lexington, KY to the late Edgar and Rachel Payne Marshall. She is also predeceased by her former husband Marion Ryvers Joyner, Jr. Frances was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and a retired operator for C & P Telephone where she worked for over 30 years. She was a very active member of Grove Avenue Baptist Church and later New Covenant Baptist Church. Frances was an active member in numerous Richmond civic organizations and charities. She was the love of her family's life and will be missed by her many friends and family members. She will forever be in our hearts.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Lori Joyner Shrader Guidry, Sherri Joyner Douthat, Marion R. "Trey" Joyner, III, and Christopher Marshall Joyner; her loving sister Patricia Trevillian and her husband Bernard; three grandchildren Callie Douthat and John and David Shrader; and nephews Kevin (Kristi) Trevillian and Bernie Trevillian (Jan); and great niece Rachel Trevillian.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 15, 2019 in Riverside Cemetery in Courtland with Rev. James H. Hyatt, Jr. officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Richmond. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of greater Richmond or the charity of your choice. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
