Franklin – Florence "Flossie" Whitley Scott Loftin, 93, widow of James Loftin and Vernard R. Scott, died July 20, 2008. She was born in Southampton County, a daughter of the late Fletcher Lee and Amy Branch Whitley. Mrs. Loftin was predeceased by two brothers, Nurney and Willie Whitley. She was a charter member of the Franklin Women's Club and a member of High Street United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Susan S. Campbell of Fredericksburg; two sisters, Gertrude Grossman of Richmond, Virginia Lee "Tootie: Wade of Franklin; four grandchildren, Robert W. Campbell, III, Christopher S. Campbell, Marshall C. Campbell , Susannah C. Millar; and 10 great-grandchildren.
