Carrsville - Beloved mother, grandmother, and sister Edna Faye Edwards Stephens, 89, walked into the loving arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on May 29, 2025.

Born on October 16, 1935 in Southampton County, Faye was a daughter of the late Joseph Elliott Edwards, Sr. and Minnie Blythe Edwards. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years John William (Billy) Stephens, Jr. and her brothers Joseph Elliott Edwards, Jr. and Ronald Benjamin Edwards.

Faye is survived by her son John Brian Stephens and Elaine, and her daughter Jennifer Stephens Bailey and husband Chris. She is also survived by her grandson Brian Shane Stephens and wife Ashley, and grandson Owen Christopher Bailey. In addition, Faye is survived by her sister Linda Edwards Hall and husband Fred, sisters-in-law Barbara Jean Edwards and Becky Edwards, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Faye grew up attending Hunterdale Christian Church and later became a member of Colosse Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years.

Faye attended Longwood College, studying business, and began working at Union Bag-Camp Paper where she met her future husband Billy. After taking time off to stay at home with her children, Faye worked at Carrsville Elementary School. The majority of her career was spent in Purchasing at Paul D. Camp Community College, where she retired after nearly 30 years of service.

Faye and Billy enjoyed many years camping at the beach with good friends and family. Faye loved her family dearly, helping to care for her mother for many years. She was affectionately called "Big Sister" by her siblings, as well as by many cousins. Faye was a devoted mother, always loving and supportive to her children. She was cherished as Grandma to Shane and Grammy to Owen and adored spending time with and caring for her grandsons.

With a naturally bubbly personality and a smile that brightened every room, she exuded warmth and positivity. Her caring and nurturing nature made people feel instantly at ease. Whether offering encouragement or simply being present, she brought a comforting, uplifting energy wherever she went.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to BJ Whitby, the caregivers at Asa's Neighborhood, and Bria, Megan, Whitney, and other wonderful caregivers at Courtland Rehab for your loving support and care.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Monday, June 2, 2025 in Wright Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
