Franklin – Fannie Lee Vaughan Hassett, 89, widow of Jay Franklin Hassett, passed away August 21, 2013. Born in Murfreesboro, NC, she was a daughter of the late Lee Roy and Fannie Mae Cooke Vaughan.
Survivors include daughters, Joan Polland, Marilyn Wilson (Bob), Kim Slagle (Jay), and Susan Carlton (Jon); son, Dr. Raymond Hassett; sister, Blanche Whitehead; grandchildren, Troy Pollard (Myra), Sherry Goodrich (Jason), Steve Pollard, Pamela Lamb (Jacob), Blair Slagle, Travis Wilson, Daniel Wilson, and Alexandra Carlton and great-grandchildren, Luke and Lydia Pollard, Violet and Scarlett Goodrich and Abram and Ezekiel Lamb.
The funeral will be at 2 PM Saturday, August 24, at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Sharon James officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour (1 PM) prior to the service. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
