Courtland – Fannie Dunlow Buckner, 103, widow of James Grandison Buckner, died March 24, 2010. Born in Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late George Washington Dunlow and Martha Johnson Ross. She predeceased by a daughter, Marger Ward, and a son, Roy Buckner, five sisters and three brothers. Mrs. Buckner was retired from Peck Manufacturing of Warrenton, NC and was a member of Courtland Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Johnnie Buckner (Elizabeth) of Warrenton, NC; 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Tommy Speight officiating. Interment will follow in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
