Windsor- Evelyn Stephenson Darden, 86, passed away June 8, 2016 at Sentara Obici Hospital. Mrs. Darden was a native of Nansemond County and was the daughter of the late John Sidney Stephenson and Mary Carr Stephenson. She was also predeceased by her husband, George Watkins Darden and a brother, John Stephenson.

She was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church and enjoyed flowers and gardening.

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Patty D. O'Neal and her husband Ralph of Windsor, a son, George Wayne Darden of Carrsville, two brothers, William J. Stephenson and Lawrence M. Stephenson (Betty Jean) both of Windsor, four grandchildren, Rebecca D. Dunn (Robert), Kimberly D. Cullipher (Charles Michael), Amber O. Griffin (Brandon) and Emily Darden, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Saturday June 11, 2016 at Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, 6952 Old Myrtle Rd., Suffolk, VA 23434 with the Rev. Micah Voight officiating. The family will receive friends at Mrs. Darden's residence at 8484 Joyners Bridge Rd., Windsor and suggests that memorial donations be made to Western Branch Baptist Church or the Carrsville Volunteer Fire Department. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
