Boykins – Evelyn Ferguson Carr, 77, passed away on September 21, 2024 in her home.  Born in Newsoms on January 14, 1947, she was a daughter of the late James Albert Ferguson and Nellie C. Johnson Ferguson.  She was also predeceased by a brother, Robert Samuel Ferguson; a sister, Elizabeth Ann White; and two brothers-in-law, Eddie Phillips and Archie Vann.

Evelyn was a retired Nurse's Aide for the Southampton County Health Department with 23 years of service and was brought up in Newsoms Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is a daughter, Tammy Lynn Stieh of Boykins; two sons, William Dale Carr (Beth) of Capron and James Curtis "Benji" Carr of Boykins; two sisters, Carol Phillips of Franklin and Dorothy Vann of Conway, NC; five brothers, James Alton Ferguson (Jane) of Franklin, Ronnie Bryant Ferguson (Johnnie) of Newsoms, William Peyton Ferguson (Patsy) of Newsoms, Steve Milton Ferguson (Pat) of Newsoms, and David Ruffin Ferguson of Boykins; a sister-in-law, Veronica Ferguson; and seven grandchildren, Cathy Carr, Ricky Carr, Jessie Carr, April Stieh, Adam Gray, Lillie Carr, and Rose Carr.

Services will be private.
