Franklin – Ernest "Pops" Beltrami, Sr., 87, passed away peacefully February 7, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ernest was the son of the late Modesto Beltrami and Luigia Bassi Beltrami of Giustino, Italy and was also predeceased by three grandchildren, Jack and Jeffrey Crabtree, Eric Henderson, and a son–in-law Bruce R. Jones, a brother Ettore and a sister Rina from Italy.

Ernest came to the United States in 1948 and patented a knife and scissors for the poultry industry called Ergo Sharp. He was the President and founder of Virginia Grinding Company and Southampton Cutting Industry. He was supplier of the year for Perdue Farms Inc. for two years. He was a devout catholic and member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 65 years Mary Sharkey Beltrami, five daughters, Barbara Belanger (Richard) of Nashua, NH, Louisa Crabtree (Harold) of Obetz, OH, Theresa Henderson (Jimmy) of Franklin, Laura Wagner (Joe) of Franklin and Rita Jones Mitchell (Bobby) of Franklin, five sons, Ernie Beltrami (Rita) of Franklin, Jimmy Beltrami (Joan) of Franklin, Robert Beltrami of Franklin, Mark Beltrami (Michelle) of Chesterfield and Joey Beltrami (Shannon) of Franklin, 22 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and cousins. He also has many nieces and nephews in Italy.

He was a second father to many others who loved him dearly and never met a stranger who wasn't a friend.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM Monday, February 12, 2018 at St. Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Saglio officiating. Burial will follow in the Beltrami Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin and suggests that memorial donations be made to the St. Jude Catholic Church. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
