Franklin – Ernest Howard Avery, 89, passed away September 16, 2019 in his home.  Born in Newburyport, MA, he was a son of the late George F. and Mildred Howard Avery and was also predeceased by his wife Virginia Joyce McCullough Avery and a brother George F. Avery, Jr.  Ernest was a medic in the US Army and a graduate of Ohio State University.  He was a research associate in the Dept. of Veterinary Science and an assistant professor for the University of California Davis.

He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter Beth Alexandra Avery of Franklin; a son US Navy Captain Scott Avery and his wife Constance of Norfolk.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Newburyport, MA.
