Franklin – Elsie Hedgepeth Womble, 82, widow of Emmett Ronnie Womble, Sr., passed away on March 11, 2022 in East Pavilion.  Born in Hertford County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Daisy Lee Whitley Hedgepeth.  She was also predeceased by four siblings, Ervine Hedgepeth, Florence Lane, Carolyn Truelove, and Betty Chaney.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Carol Adams and her husband Don of Roanoke, VA, and Juanita Smith and her husband, Jim of Berryville, VA; a son, Emmett Womble, Jr. of Franklin, VA; a grandson, Ean Zachary Smith; two sisters, Diane Hoggard (Gene) of Conway, NC and Sandra Lowder (Ron) of Pooler, GA; three brothers, James "Bill" Hedgepeth of Tyner, NC, Chris Hedgepeth (Carol) of Winchester, TN, and Calvin Hedgepeth of Ahoskie, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the East Pavilion Discretionary Fund.
