Zuni – Elliott Linzy "Tink" Story, 84, passed away March 8, 2014. Mr. Story was a native of Southampton County, a son of the late John Otis and Nancy Harcum Story. He was predeceased by a daughter, Valerie S. Morris and a sister, Inez S. Worrell. He was retired from Union Camp Corporation after 40 years of service and was a member and deacon of Black Creek Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Story was an honorary member of Black Creek Hunt Club.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 61 years, Avis Lowe Story; one daughter, Wilma Powell, and husband, Norris; one son, Douglas Story, and his wife, Pam; a son-in-law, Allan Morris; one sister, Shirley Ross; one brother, Reuben Story, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 PM Friday, March 14, 2014 at Black Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Kitts officiating. The interment with military honors will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence and following the service at the Fellowship Hall of the church.
