Franklin – Ellen Kiernan Fowler, 48, passed away November 5, 2010 at Sentara Obici Hospital after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in Alexandria, the daughter of the late John and Nita Barrett Kiernan. Ellen was a graduate of Franklin High School and Tidewater Community College and was a medical records clerk at Sentara Obicia Hospital.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 26 years, Lawson W. (Dickie) Fowler; her son, John Andrew Fowler and his girlfriend, Cheyenne; one brother John "Buddy" Kiernan of Courtland; and her co-workers and dear friends, Beth and Tracy.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday, November 8, 2010 at 11: 00 am at Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev Greg Kitts officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Sunday at Wright Funeral Home and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Kathy Worrell 717 Fairview Drive, Franklin, Va. 23851.
