Raleigh, NC- Elizabeth Scott Jordan, 92, widow of John Cary Jordan and a former resident of Franklin, passed away September 28, 2013 at Kindred Transitional Care. Born on July 27, 1921 in Pasquotank County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Minnie Lee Chappell Scott. Mrs. Jordan worked in the grocery business in Franklin for over 20 years. She was predeceased by a daughter, Peggy Jordan Lester, two sisters, Mary Ann Chadwick and Thelma Butler and a brother, Clarence Edward Scott.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Jordan Elliott and her husband, Paul, of Raleigh; son-in-law, Mike Lester of Martinsville, VA; three grandchildren, Ann Elliott Veit, Mark Elliott and Loury Lester; two great-granddaughters, Allison and Morgan and four great-grandsons, Avery, Andrew, Benjamin and Lawson.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013 in Southampton Memorial Park, Franklin, VA with the Rev. Sharon James officiating. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, VA has charge of arrangements. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
