Como NC – Elizabeth Griffith Hayes, 98, widow of Horace Hayes, died October 26, 2007 at the East Pavilion. Born in Murfreesboro, NC, she was one of thirteen children of the late William H. and Mae Hines Griffith. She was predeceased by her son, Cecil Hayes.
Survivors include a daughter in-law, Barbara Hayes of Franklin; two grandchildren, Melisa Hayes of Florida and Ryan Hayes of Franklin; one great-grandchild Blake Hayes of Richmond and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Southampton Memorial Park, Franklin with the Rev. John Hackney officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home.
