Franklin – Elizabeth Ann Baines Carr, 83, died July 16, 2009 at Consulate Healthcare in Windsor. She was born in Bethel, NC, the daughter of the late Nathan F. and Euna Carson Whitehurst. Mrs. Carr was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Otis Baines, Jr., a son, Wayne Baines, and a brother, William Gray Whitehurst. She was a member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church in Suffolk and the past ten years, attended Antioch Church in Windsor.
Survivors include her husband, Roy McClinton Carr; one daughter, Shirley B. Robinson and husband, John, of Windsor; two sons, Robert Richie (Bob) Baines and wife, Susie, of Portsmouth, and Donnie W. Baines and wife, Debra, of Capron; six grandchildren, Kimberly Cussick and husband, Kenny, Brian Callis and wife, Rebecca, Wesley Baines and wife, Abbey, Katie Baines, Nikki Baines, and Krystal Baines; and four great-grandchildren, Trey Cussick, Lucas Cussick, Elizabeth Callis and Autumn Callis.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 2 pm at Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery in Suffolk with Pastor Mark Habecker officiating. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 pm at Wright Funeral Home and other times at 152 Hidden Acres Circle, Windsor.
